What to Include in a Critical Essay Conclusion?

Writing research essays entails the diligent collection of relevant references.  However, this kind of paper is not exempted from forming and ending its piece with a sound conclusion.

In most cases, students simply don’t know which elements to put into their conclusion.  This last part is somehow taken for granted.  If you want to avoid doing this disservice to your piece, you will have to know your conclusion.

A critical essay conclusion will have to include the following:
  • Not a mere reiteration of the thesis statement.  Rather, students should be putting the statement in the new light of the findings derived and specified in the body of the essay.
  • Echo the findings with the general aspects in sight.  Students must reconnect the findings or developed discussion with the general aspects of the research essays (which may have been mentioned in the introduction or was simply implied).
  • Produce a carefully calculated outlook.  The conclusion may end your piece, but it is not necessarily the same with the topic.  In short, the piece may have its continuation – as suggested by an outlook embedded in the conclusion.  To include an outlook in the conclusion is to offer specific routes to be taken, specific people as resources, and so on.

Conclusions are as crucial as introductions.  The conclusion, in particular, helps students leave a lasting effect to its readers.  In the context of research essays, the ideal effect involves an appreciation of the topic and a profound recognition of its significance.
